World University Orienteering and Bushrangers Coach/Manager Applications

Orienteering Australia will be appointing a Coach/Manager to these three positions- see job description below. Applications can be made to  OA High Performance Manager, Nick Dent by Friday 11th March.

Position: Coach/Manager Australian Team- World University Orienteering Championships, Hungary 2016.

Orienteering Australia in conjunction with Australian University Sport will be selecting a team to participate in the World University Orienteering Championships (WUOC) to be held in Miskolc, Hungary 30th July-4th August.

Orienteering Australia is asking for any interested person to apply for the position of Coach/Manager.

Job Description:

  • Co-ordinate the travel arrangements, accommodation and training for the selected athletes.
  • Liaise with Australian University Sport with respect to entry requirements, uniform and other matters.
  • Coach and manage the team during the week of events.
  • Undertake any other tasks that Australian University Sport and Orienteering Australia require to be done in relation to the WUOC.
  • Liaise directly with Orienteering Australia, High Performance Manager in relation to all the above.

Application Requirements:

  • An outline of your skills and experience in either Coaching and/or Managing in Orienteering at a club, state or national level. (Length one A4 page).

Remuneration:

  • The position is voluntary in its nature. There is limited funds available to assist with travel and accommodation expenses.

  • The signing of the OA Team Official Code of Conduct will be required by the successful applicant.

Position: Coach/Manager Australian Bushrangers Team Senior and Junior

Orienteering Australia will be selecting both a Senior and Junior Bushrangers Team to compete against the NZ Pinestars in a test match in New Zealand, 4th-6th June 2016.

Orienteering Australia is asking for any interested person to apply for either the Coach/Manager of the Senior Team or Coach/ Manager of the Junior Team.

Job Description:

  • Co-ordinate the travel arrangements and accommodation for the selected athletes.
  • Liaise with New Zealand Pinestars Manager with respect team size and entries.
  • Coach and manage the team during the weekend of events.
  • Co-ordinate planning with the Coach/Manager of the other Bushrangers Team.
  • Liaise directly with Orienteering Australia, High Performance Manager in relation to all the above.
