Adrian Jackson continues to improve

Adrian Jackson, our present middle distance world champion in MTBO, again demonstrated his outstanding fitness by winning the elite MTBA National Round Crosscountry event on the Gold Coast on Nov 31.  In very hot and wet conditions AJ maintained  great consistency in his laps and had a 2 minute margin after completing the course in 1hr53 mins.   He competes again at National Round 3 on Dec 13th at the You Yangs in Victoria.

In other MTB news…
Quite a few orienteers were amongst the 530 riders competing in the annual Urban Polaris on Dec 7th.  This is a 7 hour score type event taking riders in pairs through the entire Canberra region.   MTBO Coach Kay Haarsma showed her cunning to place 2nd in the super-vets with 410 points and 20th overall from 265 teams, with her partner Robert Adam.  Other prominent results were: Robert Prentice, (400 points) 2nd in the mixed; Joshua Roberts and Jamie van Netten (370 points) were 20th in open men (39th overall) John Scown (360 points) was 3rd in supervets; Ann Scown was 4th in vet women; Mace Neve 7th in open women; Nic Plunkett-Cole  8th in open women, and Paul and Vicki Haynes were 8th in the supervets.
