OA HP Sprint Orienteering

On Thursday 42 of Australia’s elite orienteers both senior and junior as well as some up and coming younger orienteers will be participating in a Sprint orienteering training camp. This camp will be based at the AIS in Canberra and involve participation in the five event series Sprint Canberra being organised in conjunction with the training camp. Entries for these events has now closed and we have 131 entries with many EOD expected from the local Canberra community.

The training will very much have a sprint focus and include some novel exercises to challenge the athletes speed, concentration and ability to deal with stress (mental and physical). The facilities at the AIS will be used for recovery sessions, talks and discussion and also some track time trials.

This camp will be followed on February 22nd/23rd with Round 1 of the 2014 NOL program which will involve three sprint events in Brisbane including a sprint relay on the Saturday morning.
